What makes a discipleship focused school different from other private schools? It is not simply praying before class or extra-curricular activities. It isn’t just requiring student chapel each week. It is a school where all truth is examined in the light of God’s truth. It is also a school where discipleship themes act as the very foundation for daily curriculum. It is a place where students learn to see their relationship with the Lord as the very core of who they are as a person. Finally, it is a place where relationships are examined and sustained through the truth of God’s Word.
This is not the easy road, faith rarely is. Instead, it is a path for students that are ready to be challenged but consistently developed by godly faculty and staff that care for them mind body and spirit. In partnership with parents and the church, HCA strives to nurture young people in spiritual growth so that they will enter adulthood prepared academically and spiritually to excel in the pursuit of his/her God-given passion. To that end, students are immersed in academic curriculum that is totally biblically integrated.
HCA students represent a wide variety of church backgrounds, and we encourage our students to appreciate this diversity. Students are encouraged to share their faith and demonstrate their Christianity to the community by word and deed. All high school students have the opportunity to participate in week-long mission trips at the local, national and international level each year. Additionally, students participate in local service opportunities throughout the year.
