Our goal at HCA is to increase student achievement through a technology-rich environment, giving each student an opportunity to be an interactive and engaged participate in learning, equipping students for success in a technology driven society while helping them to use spiritual discernment to remain faithful and consecrated to God as an online digital citizen. The following technology implementations help to make this possible:
- Digital projectors in 1st through 12th grade classrooms
- Faculty are equipped with laptops in the classroom with wi-fi Internet access
- Interactive whiteboards in all secondary classrooms and most elementary classrooms
- An elementary computer lab and a secondary mobile notebook lab accessible to all students
- Student use computers in all elementary classrooms
- Student use computers in the HCA Library
- Separate secured and restricted network with Internet restrictions for student use
- Online web based curriculum for keyboarding, foreign language, computer applications, as well as a planned implementation of technology integrated curriculum through all grades for the 2012-2013 school year
HCA’s future vision includes a one to one program for all secondary students allowing student use computers to replace textbooks and allow students to integrate technology in a relevant, engaging learning environment. In all we do, we teach students how technology can be used to further the Kingdom of God, how to use technology to further their understanding of God and His creations, and how to use spiritual discernment when using technology in their day to day actions.
